Coffee Addict Puzzle

Introduction

As a coffee addict myself, I am always on the lookout for an awesome cup of joe. I have been accused of being able to drink bad coffee by the gallon and have been found drinking coffee that no one else will touch.

How do you know you are a coffee addict?

I once tried to quit drinking coffee. The resulting malaise, headache, and overall grumpiness were unbearable to others as well as me. It was clear I was not going to survive withdrawal, so I poured myself another cup.

In all seriousness, coffee addicts often present in the medical world with high blood pressure, dysrhythmias, and sleep pattern disruption. I have a little experience with this. One day, a friend of mine went to the hospital with signs of a heart attack. Thankfully he was only diagnosed with caffeine-induced heart dysrhythmia and was prescribed…decaf. Bless his poor soul!

Java addicts can also manifest in the real world as totally undesirable to be around until they get a few cups of coffee in them. Many people who declare “I am not a morning person!” are likely coffee addicts hiding in plain sight.

The results of overconsumption can be very detrimental to your health and sometimes your social life. This is why routine trips to the doctor are important. It is also good to be aware of your day-to-day health and moderate your coffee consumption.

Should I quit?

First of all, it is a bad idea to quit cold turkey. This can lead to stifling results that only send you spiraling further into your addiction. It is recommended that you first throttle your daily consumption back one cup per day/per week. This titration will give your body time to acclimate to less caffeine. It is recommended that you also exercise and take your vitamins. Likewise, it is also a good idea to replace that one cup of coffee with at least one 8oz cup of water.

Benefits of coffee

Beyond the supercharged energy you get from a cup of coffee, research has shown that there are amazing benefits from being a coffee drinker. John’s Hopkins Medicine reports that it, among other things, can reduce your risk of heart failure, stroke, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease. Simply put, it can actually help you live longer.

Conclusion

The key is balance. One of the most recommended things for this type of addiction is jigsaw puzzles. This image is of one of the best cups of coffee I have ever had. The solid white cup, dark rich coffee, sitting on a hammered metal tabletop makes a delicious-looking puzzle that isn’t so easy to complete.

This post is parody and shouldn’t be taken as medical advice. However, as a managing coffee addict, I can personally attest to the benefits jigsaw puzzles play in coping with my addiction. If you need another cup of coffee but the doctor has told you to cut back, try this cup. It won’t go against his orders.
